Homemade Marshmallows!

I am often impressed by the blogs of people who make magical and delicious things and then tell about them. Gerald is out of town this week, so my evenings are pretty dull and I decided to make something cool. I opted for homemade marshmallows because I love the ones they sell at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Company and I wanted to try it for myself. I used Alton Brown's recipe. I love that guy.

Here are the pix:

In the mixer-- it was pretty cool. It starts out looking like syrup and then puffs into marshmallow fluff.

First cuts
Gourmet dipped marshmallows to send to Hermana Harper in the MTC.

The beautiful final result!

So, that is my "excitement" for this week... maybe I will post more culinary delights... if I ever make anything fun again!

Thanks for posting your wonderful recipe! I have never even thought about making homemade marshmallows, it had never crossed my mind that they could be homemade! :) Those gourmet ones look delicious!

Awesome, Mary. It makes me excited for when we can afford to get a KitchenAid of our own. I love to make things now that I'm a mom- who knew?
