A Wonderful Evening with Peggy and Merlin

We had a wonderful evening with some dear friends on Wednesday. Peggy and Merlin Johnson are my Uncle Glenn's parents and I have know and loved them since I was a very little girl. They were in Portland for a surgery on Merlin's eye. We saw him 2 days post-op and he looked great and said he could see very well.

I had a great time showing off Macy, and they indulged me-- saying she was so cute, and so good. They took us out for a wonderful dinner and we talked about everything from recipes to robotics. It was so fun to reconnect and enjoy them again, and Macy loved the extra attention!

Mary, you probably don't remember singing at their baptism, but I think that you did. I think I was maybe 9, so you would have been 4? I'm not sure, but somewhere around there. I think that all three of us sang.
That's so fun that you got to see them. I just love them - every time I think of Peggy I think about her handwriting - do you remember??

Mary--I appreciate you and Gerald making an effort to spend time with my in-laws. It was good to see photos of Macy with them--it might have reminded them of when they first met you. You were 3 months old and it was at Glenn and my engagement party. You were the first baby Glenn ever held...and Macy looks so much like you! Give her lots of Auntie Char kisses and save a few for you and a big wet one for Gerald!
