Saturday, on our way home from shopping for Macy's dress, I started feeling really sad that our family would not be able to be there for this big day in our lives. We are 10 hours from our closest immediate family and it was just unrealistic to think anyone would be able to come. I cried a little bit, and Gerald said that if it was important to me we could wait and bless Macy at Christmas. But the truth is that this was an important day for us, and our family would have loved to be here to support us, but we could do it on our own. This is an ordinance in our church, and a little bit of a ritual/rite of passage in my own family, but it is not a saving ordinance and it doesn't require a lot of pomp and a big party. We decided to go ahead as planned and I am glad that we did.Our friends in our ward and our close-by extended family supported us, but this was an important day just for our little family and we were all there!

Wish we could be there guys - all three of you look FAB. love, your favorite auntie
Macy is so beautiful in her blessing dress! I'm sorry that we couldn't be there for her day, and I know how it is. It is very nice to have family there to celebrate this special occasion in the babies lives! You look great! That's a very fun shirt that you have on. Well, hopefully we'll see you at Christmas time! It would be fun to get Timothy and Macy together!
Macy looks beautiful--such great pictures! Sorry we couldn't be there. We certainly know what that is like. But I love the way you looked at it and had a good perspective--that it is an important day for your own little family. Hopefully next time there's a big event in your family we can be there (it will be much easier if we are only a few hours a way).
Congratulations sweet baby Macy! You guys have an adorable family. Wish we could've been there. We love you guys!
Mary - So sorry that we couldn't make it, but you all look wonderful and I hope that it was a wonderful day! Those pictures are priceless!
Love you,
Rachel
I, too, shed tears that I couldn't be there with you. You are such a beautiful little family. I know that you are doing just fine on your own, but I wish we all lived closer together. Macy looks so precious as does her handsome papa and beautiful mama!
I love you all, Mom
Mary, you look beautiful. I wish you were closer so we could have come. It is such a wonderful day, I know what you mean.
What beautiful pictures! Sweet Macey looks just precious in her perfect little dress, and what hot parents she's got! See you soon, baby girl!
Love,
Ruth
